Al Gharbia region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi hosts the 12th edition of the Liwa Date Festival, which is an annual gathering to celebrate the date season, Emirati heritage and the agricultural riches of Abu Dhabi. Since its launch, the festival has been working toward transforming the palm tree and dates into a symbol of Emirati perseverance in the past, a source of wealth in the present, and a guarantee of prosperity for the future, in line with the guidance of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God bless his soul). Combining heritage, cultural and economic aspects, the festival aspires to support the efforts of Abu Dhabi to raise the status of Liwa on the international tourism map. In its 11th edition, the festival enjoys the generous support of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
